About this objectGalvanised metal (steel?) wire mesh basket of uncertain function. Circular base widening towards rim, formed from vertical and horizontal hoops of thick wire soldered together in a rectangular lattice. Rim is reinforced with a band of the same metal and there are two arched handles attached, all soldered and ‘crimped’ together. Disc at centre of raised base is punctured with one central and six smaller surrounding holes. Inscription, seemingly in Dutch, stamped on handles.
